Wedding planning is already hard (though it can be insanely fun!) but a mixed cultural wedding, spread across several continents can get overwhelming to say the least. Christi's family is Vietnamese, and Prateek's family is Indian. They both grew up in the Austin, Texas but currently live in Jakarta, and have family worldwide. Christi and Prateek were dreaming of an intimate affair with good food, good drinks and good company. Being somewhat of transplant myself, I knew the program all too well. Life throws you curve balls, and time zones are in fact rocket science.
One of the things that stands as a testament to Christi and Prateek's character, and that I loved about working with them was that they had a vision but were at the same time so relaxed about what they had in mind. I truly believe this was their key to pulling off a successful trip and a gorgeous wedding!
After a week of travelling Bali with their families, the couple were married in a Balinese Hindu ceremony in front of some of their favorite people, followed by an incredible array of Indian chaat, an exceptional meal and cold drinks.
Christi turned to a few us and said "All I wanted was to eat Kachoris and drink Prosecco with the love of my life" as she said down next with a Kachori in her right hand and an empty champagne flute in her left next to Prateek who was pouring her a glass of bubbly.
Congratulations Christi & Prateek. I hope you have a life with countless of nights snuggling on the couch, watching amazing films, eating Kachoris, and drinking Prosecco! May the force be with you! ;P
And a huge kudos to all the people that made this a beautiful day a success!
